Change in Sun's Output Won't Stop Global Warming

NASA study shows that even if when the sun is going through one of its solar minimum cycles ( every 11 years ) where solar output is reduced, it wont be enough to off-set global warming caused by increased levels of greenhouse gases.

Humans Must Be To Blame For Climate

Say scientists, who point out that no natural phenomena could be responsible for the warming that has taken place over the last half century.
The sun cannot be to blame, otherwise the warming that has occurred would have taken place in both the upper and lower atmospheres, instead of just the lower, as predicted by greenhouse gas computer models.
More water vapour in the atmosphere, caused by evaporation from warmer oceans is causing northern latitudes, including the UK to become wetter, as predicted.

Massive Ice-Berg Breaks Free From Antarctica

An ice berg the size of Luxembourg has broken free from the Antarctic continent, and is drifting free near Australia. The chunk of ice may have broken free as a result of global warming, but scientists are more concerned that its presence could interfere with the deep water current, which may effect the Gulf Stream, preventing warm water/air from reaching the UK.

UK Met Office To Re-check Climate Data

The Met Office will look again at 150 years of climate data to ensure that the predictions made by scientists are accurate, particularly the IPCC´s forcast that “warming of the climate system is unequivocal”.

Methane Level Greenhouse Gas Fears

Scientists are increasingly concerned about rising levels of methane gas, which is around 20 times more powerful than carbon dioxide as far as its global warming potential is concerned. The frozen Arctic, which holds massive amounts of methane could be a ticking time bomb, as the ice melts releasing tonnes of the gas into the atmosphere, causing further warming, and further melting of the ice and so on..

A-Z of Global Warming

Get the facts, based on the latest science, and cut through the confusion on all the issues surrounding global warming: Buy The A-Z of Global Warming book... out now on Amazon/Waterstones/Blackwells.

NASA and Global Warming Science

Cut straight through the smoke and mirrors of climate change and check out the facts at NASA... the graph showing Global Land- Ocean Temperature Index clearly shows the warming trend that has occurred since 1880, and confirms 2009 as the second hottest year on record..... at the same time as solar activity was at its lowest as the sun dwells in deep solar minimum with low sun-spot activity.

Quote Used To Discredit Climate Scientist is Fabricated

Sir John Houghton, eminent climate scientist and author of Global Warming: The Complete Briefing, is alleged to have "sexed up" scare stories on global warming by saying "Unless we announce disasters, no one will listen,"

He denies ever saying this, and according to another author and climate skeptic Christopher Booker, Houghton was supposed to have stated this in his own book, which was first published in 1994. The comment does not appear in Houghton's book however, or the later edition, and he denies ever saying it... Seems to be a case of climate skeptics jumping on false comments to support their own skeptical agenda.

Arctic Sea Ice Loss Accelerates

Scientists who spent an entire winter in the high Arctic on board a research vessel are now concerned that the Arctic could become ice free in the summer by 2013-2030, much sooner than previous climate models suggested.

Bin Laden enters Global Warming Debate

Osama Bin Laden blasts the US for causing global warming in a tape aired by Al Jazeera T.V. In view of the fact that the US boycotted the Kyoto Protocol for a decade and is the worlds second largest polluter of greenhouse gases after China (which has only just taken over the US as main polluter), it could be the most sensible thing Bin Laden has ever said....!

Last Decade Warmest Ever: NASA

NASA confirms that the last decade was the warmest ever, despite El Nino and El Nina cooling and warming influences, the overall warming trend is up.

Scientists Accept Glacier Melt Error

Scientists accept that an error was made in the 2007 IPCC report where it was suggested that Himalayan glaciers could melt by 2035. This doesn't alter the fact that they are receeding and melting and that global warming is manmade however.

Melbourne Bakes As Nightime Temps Top 32c

Australian's start to feel the heat as nightime temperatures in Melbourne hit 32 degrees Celsius, the hottest it's been for 108 years.

Methane Release Fears

Scientists discover - stronger than previously thought - methane release seeping from Arctic seaboard. Molecule for molecule methane is 20 times stronger than CO2 as far as its global warming potential is concerned.

UK Freezes: Australia Heats Up

Whilst the UK goes through a "normal" bad winter, the temperature on the other side of the world shows that the global temperature trend is UP. 2009 in Australia proves to be the second warmest since high-quality records began in 1910. Check out the graph by following the link above.

UK freezes, but Global Warming Continues

The current freeze being experienced by the UK is within normal temperature fluctuations and should not be confused with the fact that the underlying temperature trend is up! The last decade is the warmest on record and next this year is set to be the warmest since records began.

Light Emitting Walls to Replace Lightbulbs

A welsh company has developed technology to enable special paint or wallpaper to be used which will emit light similar to sunlight from any wall/flat surface within the house, powered by battery or solar pannels. Such technology could reduce carbon emissions considerably if it replaces conventional lighting.

Climate Change - 2009 Review

Take a look back at 2009 to see what has or hasn't been achieved in relation to climate change and global warming. Whilst it's clearly been a pretty chilly xmas for most of us, 2010 promises to heat up with perhaps the warmest year globally since record began... lets see.

Copenhagen: Agreement Reached, No Final Deal

The meeting is over, but no final legally binding treaty has been reached. At present there is no agreement which will ensure global temperatures do not exceed 2 degrees Celsius, considered to be the point at which dangerous climactic changes could occur
In a nutshell "The deal sets an end-January 2010 deadline for all nations to submit plans for curbs on emissions to the United Nations. A separate text proposes an end-2010 deadline for reporting back on - but dropped a plan to insist on a legally binding treaty."

Copenhagen Talks Go Cold

Developing nations walked out of the climate change talks earlier today over fear that developed nations were trying to dodge their agreement enshrined in the Kyoto Protocol. Talks however have now resumed, with only a few days left to thrash out a legally binding agreement.

Global Warming Science Not Faked

An inquiry into the leaked e-mails recently which purportedly undermined the science of global warming reveals that the science and facts surrounding man-made global warming are indeed real, and the science supporting it remains intact.

UK Met Office Predict 2010 Hottest Year On Record

Climate change sceptics may have to eat humble pie, if the UK met office predictions that 2010 will be the hottest year since records began, come true. 1998, along with 2005 are currently the hottest years on record.

UK Met Office To Release Climate Data

UK's Met Office to release records from land and ocean based temperature readings which proves 0.7 degree Celsius rise over the last 100 years to counter arguments raised by sceptics over the recent e-mail leak scandal.

September 2009 is 2nd Warmest On Record Since 1880.

September 2009 was the second warmest September on record for combined global land and ocean surface temperatures since records began in 1880, 2005 remains the hottest so far.

800,000 Journey Through Earth's Climate History

Take a journey through 800,000 years of climate change and judge for yourself whether the science is reliable or not... the graph and science behind it confirm without doubt that co2 levels are higher than at any time in the last 800,000 years, and the only consequence of this will be higher temps.
